Sept. 27, 2023: If you are looking for tasty French food in the area, try Bistro De Ville. It is located in the former space of El Barrio in Scarsdale. The address is 185 Summerfield St, Scarsdale, NY 10583 (914) 574-6364
Bistro De Ville is a lively yet cozy restaurant with a nice bar, banquettes, and tables and chairs on a tiled floor, surrounded by whimsical blue feather motif wallpaper, ceiling lights, and wall sconces.
We started our meal with a special hors d'oeurve of the day, a pleasant combination of cured salmon and beets surrounded with orange segments in coconut yogurt dressing. Some of the other offerings in this category were Pate de Campagne and Mousse de Canard.
Entrees included Le Burger, a wonderfully creative burger cooked to perfection and topped with raclette cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions, and Aioli, served with delicious french fries. Saumon with sauce verte was also very good, as was the Big Eye Tuna Nicoise. The oven-roasted Poulet was served with cheesy mashed potatoes with herbs, which were out of this world in flavor. Other Entree choices included Steak Frites and Moules Frites.
For dessert, we opted for interesting Gooseberry Clafoutis in yummy baked custard. Also available to order were Espresso Pot du Creme and Mousse au Chocolat.
Kevin O'Neill, one of the owners, was there, and the Chef de Cuisine was Kurt Hermanson. Our waiter, Oliver, was very attentive and knowledgeable, and all of the courses were served in a timely manner.
