Important Notice: This notice was sent by email by Village of Bronxville on June 28, 2023:

"The Eastchester Fire District provides fire protection to the residents and businesses in the Town of Eastchester, the Village of Tuckahoe, and the Village of Bronxville.

On Thursday June 29, 2023 at 11 am, Verizon will be performing a required service upgrade to the Eastchester Fire District’s local emergency telephone number 914-793-6400. This will cause the emergency number to be out of service for a period of up to fifteen minutes, but hopefully it will be less than five minutes. Residents and businesses that have a fire alarm that is monitored by a Central Station, should contact their fire alarm company, and provide them with the alternate number of 914-231-1905 to reach the Eastchester Fire District emergency dispatchers. Once the upgrade is completed, the fire alarm company central station can resume using 914-793-6400, although the alternate number could be kept as a secondary contact number.

The phone line upgrade is being required by Verizon, as they are transitioning phone lines off their copper wire infrastructure.

Residents in Eastchester, Tuckahoe, and Bronxville that have an emergency should dial 911, however fire alarm central monitoring stations are usually not local, and must dial the local 10-digit emergency number to reach the Eastchester Fire District emergency dispatchers.

Should any residents or businesses have any questions or concerns, Fire Chief Brian Tween can be reached via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.."
