March 16, 2023: The Bronxville School winter athletes were introduced at the annual Winter Sports Awards evening on March 1st.  Athletic Director Joe Haven opened the evening recognizing the athletes for their many accomplishments.

“We are gathered to celebrate and honor the accomplishments of our talented student-athletes who have dedicated themselves to their sports both on and off the playing surfaces,” said Haven. “Your willingness to push yourself beyond your limits and your commitment to excel have not gone unnoticed.  You have set a standard of excellence that will inspire future generations of athletes.”

Indoor Track & Field: The winter season begins in late November and spans two holidays. Bronxville’s indoor track and field teams just finished their season last weekend with many team members competing at the New Balance Indoor National Championships.

It has been a highly successful season for the track and field teams as they won Leagues and Sectionals and sent 24 team members to the New York State Championships. For their efforts, the Bronxville track and field teams received 28 All-League awards, 14 All-Section awards, and 12 athletes were named All-State.

Ski: The ski team had one its most difficult seasons as the weather did not cooperate. Because of warm weather and lack of snow this winter, the ski season was only three weeks long.

“We had to go on an epic search for snow,” remarked Coach Jim Agnello before handing out awards.  “We went as far as Great Barrington, Masssachusetts one day after school.”

Ironically, the last day of ski season was the first time it snowed in Bronxville.
