Letter to the Community: Update on Bronxville Footbridge Replacement

By James Nolan, Westchester County Legislator, 15th District

March 8, 2023: The Bronxville Footbridge Replacement Project that the County is doing has had some misinformation spread on social media about the timeline, and I just wanted to take a moment and set the record straight and give an update on where the project stands.

The bridge will be replaced sometime this fall, and construction on the bridge hasn’t started yet; materials are still being bought, and construction documents are still being drafted.

I was happy to work with the County Executive’s office to complete this project. The use of the County’s extensive trail network is vital to the recreation residents enjoy, and I am eager to see this project finish.

The original wooden footbridge was washed away in a storm
