Dec. 14, 2022: Concordia Conservatory’s annual holiday tradition marks its 23rd year with a musical MOVIE.  “It Takes a Holiday Village” will open with an already sold out red carpet premiere at The Picture House in Bronxville on Sunday, December 18 at 5:00 pm.

In addition to the premiere, the movie is showing at The Picture House in Bronxville on December 20 at 6:30 pm and at the Picture House in Pelham on December 19-23.

“It Takes a Holiday Village” follows Santa and Carlton, his elf in charge of technology, as they tour a special Holiday Village that serves as Santa’s second home away from the North Pole.  Carlton urges Santa to make a decision that could change the Village forever. 

The musical movie team includes composer Chris Landy, a Concordia Conservatory alum and Westchester County native & resident, 8-time Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer/Director Alan Weiss. Writer/Director Greg Suss has staged 20 Conservatory holiday productions and written 5 shows over the 23-year history. Bronxville Mayor Mary Marvin is portrayed in the musical and many of the location shoots were held in the village of Bronxville. Tuckahoe Mayor Omayra Andino also makes an appearance playing a Christmas carol on piano.

The rest of the production team includes music director and Conservatory faculty, Jon Klibonoff,  choreographer Jason Summers, costume designer Michele Rohr of Bronxville and production assistant, Lilly Slaughter.

The movie’s cast hails from throughout Westchester and Fairfield Counties and includes Zach Bostock, Rayleen Bourdierd, Anyi Chen, Cindy Chen, Maeve Donnelly, Stella Donnelly, Nathaniel Dower, Sofia Duffy, Caris Erman-Thurmond, Ariana Gleason, Simon Grogan, Reed Harris Butts, Trixie Herman, Josh Judin, Kit Knapp, Blake Lander, Harry Manion, Chloe Mayer, Kelly McWilliams, Maeve McWilliams, Kathleen Moriarty, Samiya Narain, Elaina Poulos, Mariana Profili, Jeffrey Rohr, Laura Sanchez, Alexandra Seuffert, Katarina Seuffert, Lauren Seuffert, Lilly Slaughter, Avery Smith, Darcy Smith, Jordan Smith, Grace Smyth, Julia Tobin, Kayla Tobin, and Lila Wahl.

Since 1999, the Conservatory’s annual tuition-free holiday musical has been a beloved community institution and an effective theatre arts outreach program, supported by generous donors who have given over $1million. In its 23-year history, the musical has been seen by 18,000 enthusiastic audience members and performed by 1,600 performers. The Concordia Conservatory annual holiday community musical provides an opportunity for area youth and young adults to participate, without regard to family financial situation and disability.
