Much-Loved Ghosts of Bronxville to Return: Tickets Go on Sale October 11

By Suzanne Davis

Oct. 5, 2022: After a COVID-induced hiatus, the Ghosts of Bronxville will haunt the hilltop neighborhood on the night of Friday, October 28th.

The popular halloween-inspired event is part ghostly house tour and part theatrical production. Participants will walk along the hilltop’s yellow brick roads, encountering eerie apparitions. Some of the ghosts appear in their former homes and others wander throughout the neighborhood.

Every two years since 2013, the Bronxville Historical Conservancy (BHC) has organized and supported the spooky production. Sadly, the COVID pandemic caused the cancellation of last year’s Ghosts of Bronxville. “We are extremely excited to bring back Ghosts this year, and we’ve got some new tricks and treats to share with everyone,” said Betsy Putnam, 2022 Ghosts of Bronxville co-chair.

Theater students from Sarah Lawrence College and Bronxville High School will play the ghoulish and historic roles. This year’s characters include famed architect William Bates and painter Mary Low, both of whom lived in the village of Bronxville in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

“We wanted to bring these famous former residents to life for the kids of Bronxville. What better way to educate the public about our unique and rich history,” said Erin Saluti, BHC co-chair and the creator of Ghosts of Bronxville. Saluti penned the twisted tales for all of the actors, who will be dressed in Victorian era attire.

Ghosts of Bronxville is open to BHC members only and is for kids in grades 1 through 5. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets go on sale at 9 AM on Tuesday, October 11th. And, in previous years, they have sold out in a few hours.
