Sept. 14, 2022: In its September Board Meeting, the Bronxville School Board appointed Dr. Rachel Kelly as the interim Superintendent of Schools effective January 1, 2023, when current Superintendent Roy Montesano retires. The School is working with a search firm to identify candidates and expects to have a permanent Superintendent in place by July 2023.
Board President Susan Conniff noted that communications is an important goal of the School this year. She also said that another priority is talking more strategically about the budget. Finally, she spoke about some of the upcoming events for the School's Centennial on September 24th, including school tours, alumni spotlights featuring Mary Cain and Lis Smith and other events.

Dr. Rachel Kelly discussed a number of personnel items. Two key appointments include Anthony Vaglica, who was named Assistant Principal of the Bronxville Elementary School beginning August 8, 2022, and Christine Dowd who was named to the new position of K-12 Assistant Director of Special Education. In an earlier communication, it was noted that Mr. Vaglica has worked for 13 years in each of the Bronxville schools as a physical and health education teacher, a special education teacher aide, a coach, and a leader in a wide range of extracurricular activities. His range of experience includes a focus on social and emotional learning (SEL) and inclusion for all students. About his appointment, Mr. Vaglica said, “I am honored to be given the opportunity to do this work at the administrative level and to do so in partnership with such a fantastic group of educators.”
Dan Carlin, Bronxville School Assistant Superintendent for Business, said that the audit will be presented at the October meeting. He said one concern is transportation for sporting events. He presented for approval to the Board a renewal of the School's transportation contact for one year at a cost increase of 6.3%. He spoke about how transportation has been a challenge for the past two years and that it's not a financial problem. It's related to the labor market and the inability for schools to find enough drivers to get busses at the School before 4pm. He thanked parents for stepping in to help with this issue.
