The interior of Fiasco
By Karen Talbot
May 18, 2022: The name for this restaurant is Fiasco, which Webster's dictionary defines as "a complete failure." The name is misleading because this restaurant is quite the opposite - it's a complete winner and the perfect place to eat should you decide to do a walking tour of Arthur Avenue, which I wrote about last week.
Fiasco is owned by Roberto Pacuillo, originally from Naples, Italy, who also owns Zero Otto Nove and Roberto's in the area.
The atmosphere is refined, with white and whitewashed brick walls, two dining areas (one with a bar as you enter), colorful pendant lights, burgundy banquettes, and white tablecloths. But best of all, the food is not only great tasting but also handsome in its presentation.
The two Appetizers we had were outstanding: Polipo alla Griglia (grilled octopus with cannellini beans, diced tomato, cucumbers, capers, baby arugula, and lemon) was out of this world, and the Eggplant Parmigiana (breaded eggplant layered with tomato sauce, basil, and mozzarella) was perfect in every way.
The fish special of the day, Sauteed Sea Bass (Branzino), accompanied with vongole clams, cherry tomatoes in a butter, tomato, white wine, and parsley sauce, couldn't have been better. A Grilled Shrimp Caesar salad was also a great choice.
Fiasco also offers other categories of pasta, meat and paninis, and fabulous desserts
The service was first-rate, and the waiters were so pleased that we all praised the delicious and creative food from the Chef, Ciro Perotta.
Fiasco is located at 2376 Arthur Ave, Bronx, NY 10458. (718) 618-0806
