April 20, 2022: As I was walking past Starbucks last weekend, there was a little boy walking in front of me, holding his father’s hand. The little boy looked up at his father and said, “Daddy, someone has been littering.” Indeed, as you look closely around our town, mixed in with the bulbs just coming up and beginning to flower are cigarette butts, candy wrappers, plastic bottles, beer cans, and more.
The responsibility to keep our town clean falls to each of us, not just to our hard-working DPW. In honor of Earth Day on April 22 and out of a spirit of love for our town and our planet, please join the Reformed Church of Bronxville, the Environmental Club of the Bronxville High School, members of the Village Green Team, and your friends and neighbors to walk through the Village on Saturday morning, April 23, in our Second Annual Village Clean-Up.
Last year, nearly eighty people joined us for this event. I hope that even more of you will do this small part to help our community. So bring your children and friends and come to the canopy of the Bronxville Elementary School on Midland Avenue to sign in, collect trash bags and gloves, and form groups to span out in different areas of town.
See you there!
