Bronxville High School senior Grace Gramins is among 60 extraordinary artists to be selected as a 2022 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts nominee. The prestigious honor was bestowed by YoungArts to talented high school students – representing 23 states and 10 artistic disciplines – who exemplify artistic and academic excellence.

Gramins entered the competition with three original songs, “Back to You,” “Don’t Wanna Lose More Than I Have Already” and “Six,” which she wrote in the past year. She was selected as a 2022 YoungArts finalist in the category of voice/singer-songwriter through a rigorous blind adjudication process. As a finalist, she had the opportunity to participate in the National YoungArts Week+ in January, during which she was further evaluated for nomination to the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The National YoungArts Week+ featured virtual classes, workshops and mentorship from leading artists.

In May, the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars will announce the final 20 high school seniors to be recognized as U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts for their academic and artistic accomplishments, demonstrated leadership, community service and outreach initiatives, and overall creativity.
