Community Fund Launches 2022 Campaign

By Amy Korb, Executive Director, The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe

Oct. 27, 2021: The Community Fund - continuing its excellence through giving - has launched its 2022 Annual Campaign. TCF continues to be a community leader in the “local giving” movement. The Fund strives to find effective ways to build a greater community that highlights the impact of the Fund to all residents, and 2021 was no exception.

Serving our Community for 102 Years

The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe raises funds for the over 25 non-profit social-service agencies and community programs that rely on grants made directly from The Community Fund.  Senior programming, youth services, education and prevention programs all rely on dollars given by the Fund.

As the organization adapts to the next 100 years, a  more pronounced emphasis is now being put into Community programming that directly affect our residents.

The Community Fund had an especially impactful year.  In addition to the ongoing financial assistance provided to our local charitable agencies, the Community Fund took on new initiatives to strengthen the organization:

-Engaged the National Executive Service Corps. to enhance  the work of the Fund through a first ever strategic planning process that sharpened our Mission, created a Vision Statement, and will drive a strong path forward to more positive impact in our community

-Introduced local high school students to the power of philanthropy through the Youth Community Fund.  Participants learned to review grant proposals, participate in meeting with members of local nonprofits, and gain sophisticated insight into how to make meaningful change in a broader world.

-Established a separate $250,000 Fund to respond to the Covid 19 pandemic and dispersed all funds to local organizations throughout lower Westchester doing meaningful work to support those most in need.

“The organization felt a pressing need to support local agencies who are providing food, medical care and shelter among other basic services to those disproportionately affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19),” said Amy Korb, Executive Director of the Community Fund. “With this unique fund, we were able to identify organizations that not only serve our neighbors but can also make an impact in the BET.  The timing coincided with our strategic planning process which is helping the organization become even more meaningful in the community. ”

For 100 years, The Community Fund has consistently supported key community programs for the residents of the Bronxville 10708, Eastchester and Tuckahoe (BET) area, including:

-Drug, Alcohol, and Vaping education and awareness programs for children and parents, provided by Eastchester and Tuckahoe D.A.R.E.

-Family services that support those with special needs as well as those unable to afford legal services through South East Consortium and Legal Services of the Hudson Valley.

-Counseling and support services offered to families through the Cancer Support Team and the Bereavement Center.

-Youth programs designed to foster positive relationships with local police, local municipalities, and PTA’s as well as local libraries.

-Programs and support services for our seniors provided by Eastchester Senior Programs & Services, Gramatan Village and the Bronxville and Tuckahoe Senior Centers.

-A new ambulance every three years for the Eastchester Ambulance Corp.

Jeff Ungvary, Campaign Co-Chair for Bronxville feels truly connected to the Fund, “As a Bronxville resident and business owner, I’m extremely proud of the Community Fund and all it does for the diverse constituents in Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe.”

Tony Sayegh, Eastchester and Tuckahoe Campaign Co-Chair understands the importance of the Fund’s impact. “The Community Fund has always been the gold standard community organization for Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe. It’s the best way for our residents to reinvest directly into the programs that most impact our neighbors.”

The Annual Campaign each fall is the Community Fund’s principal source of fundraising.  Its success determines the amount of grant allocations distributed to the Fund’s member agencies and community programs serving the residents of Bronxville 10708, Eastchester and Tuckahoe.
