May 19, 2021: La Casa Bronxville, an exciting new Mexican restaurant, will be opening for outdoor dining starting June 11th and in early July for indoor dining.

This new restaurant, located in the space formerly occupied by Blue Moon Mexican Cafe, will serve farm-to-table authentic Mexican cuisine and artisanal craft cocktails. The new "modern casual" bar and dining room is being completely renovated and designed by the local firm Salisbury & Manus.

The owner of La Casa Bronxville is Spencer Pingle, an eighteen-year resident of Bronxville. He is a first-time restauranteur with a lifelong passion for cooking. He is retired from a thirty-year career in marketing, insights, and design at Colgate Palmolive. Summers spent in Mexico during college gave him his Spanish language skills and cemented his love for the rich traditions of Mexican cuisine.

Every dish will be 100% made in-house, including tortillas nixtamalized from heirloom corn and ground using La Casa's own Molino. A fresh seasonal menu will be featured with a commitment to locally-grown and ethnically sourced ingredients. Expect to see both Vegetarian and Vegan-friendly food items on the menu.

Spencer has put together a top-notch team. The Executive Chef is Emily Gonzalez, who recently served as Sous Chef at world-renowned Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Before that, she worked at Cosme, considered to be the top Mexican restaurant in the U.S. The General Manager is Edgar Granada, who has extensive hospitality experience, having worked at Daniel Boulud's, Boulud Sud, Aquavit, Ed's Chowder House, and Oceana. The head bartender is Julio Enriquez, who was the head bartender and bar manager at Blue Hill at Stone Barns.

La Casa Bronxville will be open for outdoor dining from Wednesday to Sunday starting June 2nd from 5 to 10 pm. The restaurant's outdoor seating area will have ten tables for four people, seven tables for two people, and some sidewalk tables.

The restaurant's address is 7 Pondfield Road, #27.  Reservations are recommended and can be made on the Resy platform, which is accessible via LaCasaBronxville.com
