Mar.17, 2021: The Bronxville village election was held yesterday Tuesday, March 16, 2021. Bronxville residents had the opportunity to vote for three candidates, Mayor Mary Marvin, Trustee Bob Underhill, and Trustee Bill Fredericks. All three were reelected and will serve two year terms. The unofficial tally of election results as of 8am this morning indicates that a total of 922 votes were cast, with Marvin receiving 358 votes, Underhill receiving 332 votes and Fredericks receiving 232 votes.
Mary Marvin
Mary Marvin says that one of her focuses right now is the downtown area and merchants and making sure the village comes out of the pandemic in good shape. She loves the job and says that there are always new challenges. "What's most important," she says, " is to keep a fresh eye and be open to new perspectives."
Bob Underhill
Bob Underhill says that what he enjoys most about his work as Trustee and Deputy Mayor is the gratification he gets from completing various projects and, most importantly, "the people." He describes how great it is to get to know the police force, the people working in the DPW, and the great people in village hall and on the board. Most recently, Bob has been involved with the village's Police Community Relations Committee.
Bill Fredericks
Bill Fredericks was a longtime member of the Bronxville village zoning board prior to becoming a Trustee. He says that one of Bronxville's great attractions is its green space, neighbors, and quiet streets and that many of the village's best attributes are the result of "the excellent village staff and people who are involved in the village through so many volunteer activities." In thinking about the role of trustee, Bill Fredericks says it's primarily one of oversight, but "new things always come up." He mentions the recent Concordia sale as an example. "I'll always be out there for people to contact or approach," says Bill. "I hope to hear from residents."
