OSilas Art Studio Announces Art Workshops and Classes For Ages 5 to 18

By Elizabeth Vranka, Executive Director, OSilas Gallery

Jan. 6, 2020: OSilas Art Studio at Concordia College New York is pleased to announce its winter/spring art class and workshop offerings,

For the first time, these offerings will include a January virtual three-week mini-session. Each three-week workshop will be taught by one of our talented and engaging instructors in a fun and informative format.

Workshops, which start the week of January 11, are offered over zoom for ages 5 – 18 and will include a surrealism workshop, 3-D projects, master artist discoveries, arts/crafts, and much more.

Registration is now open for the January workshops. For class descriptions and to register, please CLICK HERE.

The Art Studio will also offer in-person instruction with weekly Studio classes in accordance with New York State guidelines, ranging from elementary school-aged studio art to honors middle and high school art. The winter/spring classes will run from February to early June and culminate in an art show for all students in the OSilas Gallery on the Concordia College campus.

Art Program Director Lisa Rao is excited to welcome students back to the Studio virtually and in-person after a successful fall semester. Rao said, “Our 2020 fall semester in the Art Studio exceeded all expectations. Students and instructors created the most beautiful art pieces and enjoyed their time working safely in the Art Studio. We’re thrilled to provide a hybrid approach this winter, starting with our exciting virtual workshops and then moving to in-person Studio instruction in February. Our new January workshops will give our students a creative outlet to kick-off 2021.”

Private and semi-private lessons are also available virtually or in-person if students would like to take class individually or with a small group of friends. A very limited number of private/semi-private slots are available, and a minimum of six sessions are required to reserve a slot.

Please note that the health and safety of our students, instructors, and the Concordia College community is our priority. For in-person instruction, students and families, will be required to follow Concordia College’s safety protocols, including limited class sizes that allow for social distancing and the wearing of masks at all times on campus. Further information on Concordia’s safety plans can be found HERE.
