Downed Tree On Avon Road Results in Power Outage

By Staff

Jan. 6, 2020:  A Christmas eve rain and wind storm resulted in a downed tree on Avon Road in Bronxville. The large tree fell on power lines and resulted in a broken telephone pole, downed electrical wires and an electrical transformer on the ground.

A number of homes on Avon Road, Park Avenue, and Prescott Avenue lost power. Other homes kept power going with generators.

Con Edison was on the scene first thing in the morning and was able to restore power around 5 pm, which was welcome news to homes gathering candles and flashlights for the evening. Thank you, Con Ed!
