Oct. 21, 2020: River is a loving 2-year-old, 50 pound, Labrador Retriever/boxer mix.
Most of River’s story is unknown. She was found as a stray with a belt wrapped around her neck that was used as a collar. According to her foster mom, she is one of the sweetest pups. River adores other dogs, will try to play with cats, and is very affectionate with people that she knows.
River seems to be a little timid around men; however, once she warms up to them, she will happily become their best buddy as well. Her foster mom says that the minute she walks in the door, River bounces towards her with joyful excitement. Although River is very gentle, she would probably do it best in a home with children over 12. She has a lot of energy and could accidentally knock a little person down while trying to play with them.
River is housebroken and knows her basic commands. She is intelligent and eager to learn new skills. She could stand to put on a few extra pounds, so yummy snacks and treats are welcome.
River is healthy and up-to-date with her vaccinations. She would love to go to a home with another canine pal. If you would like a loyal best friend, daily kisses, and are up for a game of fetch, please contact SNARR Northeast at www.snarrnortheast.org.
