Feb. 11, 2015: Frank Spillo of Hartsdale passed away on February 3, 2015, at the age of 90.
He was born in Bronxville on April 29, 1924, to Nancy and Anthony Spillo. He was married to Genevieve Spillo for 64 years.
After graduating from Edison High School, Frank proudly served as a US Marine fighting on Okinawa during World War II. After the war, he was invited to try out at the Phillies farm camp. He loved baseball and was an avid Yankees fan.
Frank ran his own milk route in Bronxville for over 30 years and then served as a crossing guard there for another 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve, three sons, Angelo, Michael, and William, three grandchildren, David, Joseph, and Jenna, and sisters Mary, Ester, and Margaret, and was predeceased by sisters Connie and Carmella and brother Angelo.
Calling hours were held at Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home in Bronxville and a Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Catharine's Church in Pelham.
