Homecoming Week Schedule: Varsity Games, Parade, Pep Rally, Food, Apparel PDF Print Email

By Joanie Berkery and Linda Pagano, Members, Bronxville PTA Athletic Council

Oct. 2, 2019:  The Bronxville School Athletic Department and PTA Athletic Council are proud to bring you Homecoming 2019. Bronxville PTA Athletic Council’s 2019-2020 initiative, Onward Broncos,” echoes the Bronxville fight song. "Onward Broncos, Onward into Victory!"

All Broncos, fans, faculty, and alumni are invited to celebrate our athletes on the field, in the pool, around the track, and on the courts. Just this past week, Broncos branding has been installed in the gym and on Chambers and Hayes Fields, continuing the Bronxville PTA Athletic Council’s branding initiative with spectacular effect.

And thanks to the continued assistance of Mayor Mary Marvin and the generous support of the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce, our homecoming banners will be displayed throughout the village in our vibrant Bronxville business district. From the Bronxville feather flags and game night lights to the varsity parade of athletes and bonfire to the community pep rally and the countless volunteers that make this week a huge success, we celebrate our school and we celebrate our community.

The Bronxville School is pleased to announce that the new track will be named the James Owen Mitchell Track. We honor “Mitch” in light of his 41 years of coaching the girls' track teams. Please join the Bronxville community in a dedication ceremony during halftime of the varsity football game scheduled for Saturday, October 12, at 6:00 pm.

Don’t miss Food Truck Night, Thursday, October 10, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm in the Meadow Avenue parking lot featuring the Walter’s Hot Dog Truck, Road Grub Mobile, Abeetza Pizza, Jimmy’s Soft Serve Ice Cream Truck, and the Crazy Taco Mex Truck. Also open during the games is the Broncos Barn & Grill with specialty foods for the Friday and Saturday night games, generously donated by local Broncos supporters Lange’s Delicatessen, Mini’s Prime Meats & Specialties, Nutmeg Cafe, Park Place Bagels, Scalini Osteria, and Bronxville’s Doukas family-owned Eastchester Odyssey Diner. We would also like to thank Gino's Pizzeria and Pete's Park Place Tavern, who have also made contributions, and the PTA Athletic Council extends its sincerest thanks to all of its wonderful donors!
