Jan. 31, 2018: On Thursday, January 25, Bronxville High School senior Dylan James was honored at the Westchester Country Club as an honorable mention selection for the 2017 “Golden Dozen.” The award, which is given annually by the Westchester Chapter of the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame, recognizes student-athletes who excel both academically and on the football field.
James, who was a captain for Bronxville this season, started for three years at both middle linebacker and fullback. He is a three-time all-league recipient and earned all-conference honors as a senior. At Bronxville, he was selected the “Keeper of the Rock” during his junior year and this year won the Jack Fearon Award for “Outstanding Senior Season.”
James is a standout on the lacrosse field as well, where he earned all-league honors in 2017 and was given Bronxville’s “Raw Meat and Whole Milk” award for team spirit. A four-year honor roll student, James plans to continue playing football next year at Colby College.
