Bronxville Non-Partisan Committee Seeks Applications for New Committee Members
Written by Steven Kraemer, Vice Chair, Committee for the Non-Partisan Nomination and Election of School Trustees

Mar. 11, 2015: The Bronxville Committee for the Non-Partisan Nomination and Election of School Trustees (the "NPC") is seeking candidates for new members of its committee.
The NPC was formed in 1936 to foster the election of school board trustees of The Bronxville School on a non-partisan basis. Each spring the NPC solicits nominations or applications from residents to serve on the NPC committee, itself.
The NPC has 21 members, comprising three elected representatives from each of the village's seven voting districts who serve staggered three-year terms. After receiving applications, the NPC conducts elections in the spring for the open seats in each district. The members elected this spring officially commence service in July of 2015.
The NPC meets on most Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm from January through March to identify and review candidates for nomination as school board trustees. After the Bronxville Board of Education (BOE) nominees have been selected in March, the committee meets through the beginning of June, as needed, to identify potential candidates for membership on the NPC and to conduct other business.
Interested residents can have their names placed on the ballot for election to the NPC by submitting an application to the NPC by 5:00 pm on April 30, 2015. Residents can obtain contact information for all current NPC members and an application on the NPC website, www.bronxvillenpc.com.
To be eligible to serve on the NPC, an applicant must be at least eighteen years of age and must have lived in Bronxville for at least one year, and the applicant cannot be an elected official of the village or an officer of a political party and cannot be currently seeking elective office in either the village or a political party. Interested applicants are encouraged to attend the NPC's Meet the Trustee Nominees Reception on April 28 at 7:30 pm at the Bronxville Field Club to see the NPC process firsthand and to meet the current committee members.
