Bronxville Police Blotter: April 16 to April 20, 2015

Thursday, April 16: At 5:45 pm on New Rochelle Road, a 33-year-old New Rochelle man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration certificate (unclassified misdemeanor) after driving past a Bronxville police vehicle equipped with a license plate reader. The 2003 Ford that the man was operating was impounded. He was processed on the scene and released with uniform traffic tickets for suspended registration, operating without a license, unregistered motor vehicle, inadequate lights, and no distinctive plate. He is scheduled to appear in the Bronxville Justice Court on May 6, 2015.
Saturday, April 18: At 9:03 am a 2012 Acura MDX parked on Meadow Avenue was reported entered into overnight. The vehicle was unlocked and the alarm was not armed. A $300 leather handbag and miscellaneous coins valued at $10 were stolen.
Sunday, April 19: At 9:49 am a 2014 KIA located in Bolton Gardens was reported entered into overnight. A MacBook Air laptop computer was stolen. The vehicle was unlocked and the alarm was not armed.
Sunday, April 19: At 5:38 pm officers were able to retrieve a purse that a customer had left at the Yum Yum Tree and then contact the customer, facilitating its return.
Monday, April 20: At 3:58 pm at Eastbourne Apartments, sometime between March 20 and April 20 a basement storage locker was entered into and a specialized bicycle valued at $2,500 was stolen. The incident is being investigated by detective.
